Welcome to Delta Counseling!

I’m Rachel Schneider, and I’m passionate about helping clients discover a deeper understanding of themselves and achieve the balance, wellness, and happiness they seek. Life's challenges often lead people to unhealthy coping mechanisms, and my goal is to help you break free from these patterns, guiding you toward healthier, more fulfilling ways to navigate your journey.

My career began in community mental health, where I gained valuable experience working with a wide range of mental health and substance use issues. In 2012, I transitioned into private practice, and in 2018, I joined a smaller practice to further specialize in eating disorders. During this time, I also had the opportunity to work at the Eating Recovery Center of Ohio, which deepened my knowledge and expertise in the field. When the pandemic hit, I realized there was a great need for outpatient eating disorder providers and saw how beneficial it could be for clients to have access to both mental health and nutrition services. This led to the creation of Delta Counseling in October 2021.

I take a holistic, client-centered approach to therapy, using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I customize each client’s treatment plan to ensure it fits their unique needs and challenges. At Delta Counseling, we are a small, close-knit team, which allows us to collaborate effectively and provide the best possible care for our clients.

I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your path to healing!

Offers in person and virtual appointments

Works with clients ages 16 and up. In-network with: Humana, Cigna, Aetna, Medical Mutual, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, TRICARE, Multiplan, United Healthcare, UMR, and Lucent Health.

As a registered clinical dietitian, I’ve spent much of my career working with individuals struggling with mental health disorders and disordered eating. I strive to maximize client outcomes through a gentle nutrition philosophy based on an anti-diet framework, and develop treatment plans under the Health at Every Size ™ philosophy. I promote intuitive eating strategies with my clients to enable them to break free of conventional restrictive dieting methods, facilitating dietary freedom, and allowing them to rediscover the power of sustainably nourishing the body and mind. I take into consideration each client’s personal goals and experiences with an “all foods fit” mentality, and I look forward to working with clients at Delta Counseling to help them on their journey to recovery!

Welcome!  Seeking a therapist to work with is a huge step.  I am an Independently Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience in the treatment of eating disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders.  Through several years of working in higher levels of care, I have gained specialty in the treatment of adolescents and families, as well as treatment for adults.  I align with a client centered approach and utilize aspects of evidence based treatments such as ACT and CBT.  For those that need more intensive care to combat their eating disorder, I offer FBT (Family Based Therapy).

In working together you will notice that I connect to the following beliefs:

  • Therapy is for everyone

  • Food is fuel and fun

  • Perfectionism is overrated

  • Flexibility and vulnerability are keys to connection

  • Exercise is meant to be self love, not punishment

  • Body size does not determine health

  • Family, however you define it, is our foundation

  • Your priorities change when you become a parent

  • Values are the best compass in life

  • The safe option isn’t always best

In our time together, I hope you feel safe and empowered to embark on the journey of recovery.  I am passionate about helping individuals get back to a life that fills their cup and excites them.  Change and growth are difficult, but worth it.  I am honored to be a part of your journey.

As Rachel’s husband, I may not be a therapist myself, but I have an immense respect for the profession and for those who seek treatment. I support Delta Counseling behind the scenes, handling everything from bookkeeping and IT to serving as Rachel’s admin assistant. If you call, there's a good chance I’ll be the one who answers!

Outside of my work with Delta, I’m an accountant with experience in a wide range of industries, from higher education to emergency monitoring services. Currently, I serve as the Controller for Paul Hemmer Company, a commercial general contractor in Northern Kentucky.

Rachel and I live in Liberty Township with our two sons, our dog Placebo (aka Bo), and our cat Niles.
